Project Overview
As SUNNY’s final project of 2024, this garden-style bookstore was successfully delivered as a distinctive cultural space rooted in its natural and historical surroundings.
Guided by the concept of a “cultural journey,” the project adapts existing historic architecture within the Huishan scenic area. Natural light and greenery are used as key spatial elements, creating a layered experience where each step reveals a new view. The result is a calm, immersive environment that connects architecture, landscape, and reading.
During construction, SUNNY worked closely with the design intent, carefully preserving selected classical and natural elements of the original structure while integrating modern operational functions required for daily use. Through professional judgment and precise execution, the project achieves a balance between heritage, nature, and contemporary functionality—resulting in a one-of-a-kind garden-inspired bookstore.
