Sunny Unite is seeking a reliable, proactive, and energetic Student Intern to join our Project Team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for students who are eager to build a career in the design build industry and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. As a design-build coordination Intern, you will assist both the with various coordination and administrative tasks — including design document and data management, research, and hands-on project support — gaining practical experience in real construction operations.
What You Will Do
- Assist with project document and data management;
- Support Design and Construction Team and Purchase Order administration;
- Collect and organize compliance documents, including Certificates of Insurance, W9 forms, contractor licenses, and lien releases;
- Assist in preparing project closeout packages;
- Provide support in areas such as Change Management, Drawings, Submittals, and RFIs as needed;
- Make phone calls and communicate with contractors regarding project coordination;
- Maintain and update subcontractor contact information and relationships;
- Keep the Project Accounting Manager, Project Coordination Manager, and project teams informed about project progress and any potential issues;
- Work through an actual project alongside a Project Manager.
What You Need
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural, Construction Management, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field (preferred);
- A strong desire to learn, grow, and succeed in the design build industry;
- Excellent written communication, grammar, and spelling;
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
- Effective time management, punctuality, and ability to meet deadlines;
- Professional phone etiquette and communication manners;
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with people of different backgrounds;
- Organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.
