Sunny Unite is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to join our team and lead construction projects both locally and nationwide.
We are looking for a results-driven professional who can efficiently manage project schedules, ensure high-quality delivery, and earn client trust and satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and coordination skills, capable of working closely with subcontractors, owner representatives, city officials, and design/engineering teams while maintaining efficiency and precision in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Oversee all daily on-site construction activities from project initiation to final completion;
- Develop, update, and execute project schedules to ensure each construction phase is completed on time;
- Enforce company and industry safety and quality standards, driving toward a “zero-incident” and “punch-free” project closeout;
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to ensure compliance with specifications and technical requirements while maintaining current versions on site;
- Coordinate construction plans, scheduling, and subcontractor/vendor mobilization;
- Track delivery schedules of owner-supplied materials and coordinate receipt with subcontractors;
- Conduct regular site walks to ensure the job site remains clean, organized, and efficient.
Communication & Coordination
- Maintain proactive communication with subcontractor management, city officials, owner representatives, and design teams;
- Coordinate different construction phases to resolve site issues and prevent schedule delays;
- Manage RFIs (Requests for Information) to promptly clarify drawing conflicts or omissions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit various project reports, including daily logs, manpower reports, progress updates, and owner-required documentation;
- Assist in preparing and updating construction schedules;
- Supervise document control to ensure all records are complete, accurate, and traceable.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent;
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale projects on time and with high quality;
- Experience in the following project types is highly preferred:
- TI (Tenant Improvement) projects
- Ground-Up Construction
- Experience in retail construction projects is a strong plus.
Skills & Requirements
- Excellent ability to interpret construction drawings and coordinate field operations;
- Strong attention to detail and a high sense of responsibility;
- Proficient in Procore and other project management or digital tools;
- Strong communication and teamwork skills;
- Excellent document management and record-keeping abilities;
- Must pass Motor Vehicle Record and Drug Screening checks.
Travel Requirements
This position requires flexibility to travel across nationwide as needed for project assignments.
