Sunny Unite is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team and lead commercial and retail projects across the United States.
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility between remote collaboration and on-site management.Reporting directly to the CEO, the Project Manager will oversee all phases of construction — from planning and execution to project closeout — ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role carries full responsibility for the project’s financial performance, including profitability and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination
- Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects from inception through completion;
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules to ensure timely progress;
- Coordinate communications and workflows among subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams;
- Organize and maintain comprehensive project documentation to ensure smooth workflow and traceability.
Design & Engineering Collaboration
- Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure all work meets technical and operational standards;
- Review shop drawings and technical submissions for accuracy and scope compliance;
- Promote and implement company Safety Programs and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Contract & Financial Management
- Oversee project estimating, bidding, and proposal preparation;
- Negotiate and execute subcontractor and vendor agreements with clear definitions of scope and responsibility;
- Review and approve payment requests and invoices from subcontractors and vendors;
- Manage change orders promptly and accurately;
- Monitor project financial performance, preparing progress and financial reports (including monthly updates, schedule analyses, and billing summaries);
- Procure and track material deliveries to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to specifications.
Site Supervision & Reporting
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, safety, and workmanship quality;
- Provide regular verbal and written updates on project status to company leadership;
- Maintain strong communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term relationships.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with at least two years of directly related experience; or a minimum of four years of commercial/retail construction project management experience.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience managing large-scale commercial and retail construction projects;
- Proven experience as a Lead Project Manager on full-cycle construction projects;
- Experience in:
- Tenant Improvement (TI) projects
- Ground-Up construction
